Many of the ferry partners we work with offer the option for passengers to cancel their booking. This article will outline the options for cancelling your booking and explain how to request a cancellation quote.

Cancelling your booking

If you want to cancel your booking, you can request a cancellation quote via 'My Account' or 'Manage my Booking'. The cancellation quote will be calculated according to the fare type of your booking and any applicable cancellation fees outlined in the ferry partner's terms and conditions.

If the ferry partner has cancelled or rescheduled your sailing, the cancellation fees outlined in their terms and conditions may not apply, so you will need to contact us and click 'Talk to a person 👤' to request the cancellation of your booking.

How to request a cancellation quote for your booking

A cancellation quote specifies the refund amount you will receive if you cancel your entire booking. Follow the below steps to request a cancellation quote for your booking:

  1. Log in to your booking via My Account or Manage my Booking.

  2. Click 'Cancel Booking'.

  3. Click the green 'Send' button.

Your request will be processed and you will receive a cancellation quote which you can choose to accept or reject. To confirm the cancellation of your booking you must accept the cancellation quote before it expires. If the cancellation quote expires, or if you reject or do not respond to the cancellation quote, your booking will remain active.

How to cancel the return sailing on your booking

Cancelling the return sailing on your booking is the same process as requesting an amendment. Follow the below steps to cancel the return sailing on your booking:

  1. Log in to your booking via My Account or Manage my Booking.

  2. Select 'Change Booking' and then 'Change Booking Details'.

  3. Re-enter your details in the booking form, making sure to leave the return sailing section blank.

  4. Click 'Search' to request availability and pricing.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the change.

If you experience any issues while cancelling the return sailing on your booking you should contact us and click 'Talk to a person 👤' for assistance.

Receiving a refund after cancelling your booking

Receiving a refund after cancelling your booking depends on a few factors:

  • Your fare/ticket type: Some fares are sold under the condition that they will be non-refundable if cancelled.

  • When your booking was confirmed: Some ferry partners will offer full or partial refunds if the booking is cancelled on the same day it was confirmed, or within 24 hours of being confirmed.

  • Time before departure: Many ferry partners calculate refunds according to how many days or hours there are before departure. The refund amount decreases as the departure date gets nearer.

  • The reason for cancellation: If the booking has been cancelled because the ferry partner cancelled or rescheduled the sailing then any cancellation fees outlined in their terms and conditions may not apply.

How to find out if you will be eligible for a refund if you cancel your booking

The quickest way to check if you will be eligible for a refund if you cancel your booking is to check your confirmation email. This will state the fare type of your booking and outline if the booking can be refunded if you cancel it. You can also check the terms and conditions of the ferry partner you're travelling with.

The refund process

If we have confirmed your refund it will be processed and credited to your original payment method within 5-7 working days. If your refund does not appear in your bank account you should contact your bank for an update. In some cases, your bank's processing time may be longer than 7 working days.

Alternative options for non-refundable bookings

If your booking is non-refundable then you should consider the following alternative options:

  • Amend your booking to a different date: If you aren't eligible for a refund then you may want to consider changing the date on your booking to keep it active.

  • Check your travel insurance policy: If you have purchased travel insurance then you should contact your provider directly to check if you are eligible for any reimbursement if you cancel your booking.
