How can I travel with an export vehicle?

Some of our ferry partners offer the option for customers to travel with an export vehicle. This article explains which ferry partners allow export vehicles and how you can add one to your booking.

Currently, the following ferry partners allow export vehicles:

  • CTN

  • Corsica Linea

  • Grimaldi Lines

  • Grandi Navi Veloci

  • Balearia

Travelling with an export vehicle on a CTN, Corsica Linea, or Grimaldi Lines ferry

You will need to contact us at least 48 hours before departure if you want to travel with an export vehicle on a CTN, Corsica Linea, or Grimaldi Lines ferry. Please have your AFerry reference number to hand as we will need this to locate your booking. You can find the reference number on your booking email confirmation or by logging into your booking via My Account.

Travelling with an export vehicle on a Grandi Navi Veloci ferry

You are responsible for informing Grandi Navi Veloci if you want to travel with an export vehicle. You will need to inform staff members at the port before you check-in. Any additional cost will be paid directly to Grandi Navi Veloci.

Travelling with an export vehicle on a Balearia ferry

For routes to Algeria: You will need to create the booking as usual via our website and then email export.algerie@balearia.com with the corresponding customs documentation for the export vehicle. This must be completed no later than 48 hours before departure. You must arrive at the port on the day of travel at least 4 hours before departure and you will be required to pay a fee of 100 EUR for the export vehicle. Further details are available on the Balearia website. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact us.

For all other routes: You will need to contact us at least 72 hours before departure. Please have your AFerry reference number to hand as we will need this to locate your booking. You can find the reference number on your booking email confirmation or by logging into your booking via My Account.

What do I need to take to the port if I am travelling with an export vehicle?

You must have the appropriate documentation to present to customs at the port. Each country has its own documentation requirements for export vehicles. We recommend checking the requirements for the country you will be leaving and the country you will be travelling to.
