Starting 1 November 2025, all non-EU Area passengers (including United Kingdom passport holders) travelling through the port of Dover must report to the Western Docks (postcode: CT17 9DQ) for additional checks as part of the European Entry/Exit System (EES). This is a new EU border control requirement for non-EU citizens entering any EU Member State.
EES involves registration of personal and travel details on the EES system and the recording of biometric data (fingerprints and facial images). This includes the port of Dover where French border control is located prior to travel.
Passengers should follow all signage and diversions directing them to the Western Docks and allow extra time for their journey.
