What is Koala Cancel For Any Reason?
Koala Cancel For Any Reason is an add-on product that gives you the flexibility to cancel your booking for any reason and receive a refund of 80%. There are two options available, Regular Flex and Last Minute Flex. With Regular Flex you can cancel up to 48 hours before your first departure and with Last Minute Flex you can cancel up to 3 hours before your first departure. The 80% refund applies only to the ticket price and does not include the Koala add-on fee or other add-ons, which are non-refundable.
This includes non-refundable tickets, provided all conditions are met.
Does Koala Cancel For Any Reason have any exclusions?
Koala Cancel For Any Reason cannot be used in the following cases:
If your booking is cancelled by AFerry or the ferry operator.
If your booking is cancelled less than 48 hours before your first departure (Regular Flex) or less than 3 hours before your first departure (Last Minute Flex).
Your booking has been amended from its original dates.
The Koala add-on fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including when the ferry operator cancels the trip, cancellations occur less than 48 hours before departure, or the booking has been amended.- Koala Cancel For Any Reason only covers the outbound leg of a booking and does not apply to the return leg.
Koala Cancel For Any Reason is not travel insurance. It covers the cancellation of your booking but does not provide the broader cover typically included in travel insurance. In exceptional cases, such as medical emergencies, non-refundable tickets may be considered for refunds if medical documentation is submitted for review. Approval is not guaranteed, but if declined, you may request to amend the booking to a future travel date, subject to availability and fare differences.
For example, if your ticket costs €438.49 and the Koala add-on is €43.84, the refund would be €350.79 (80% of the ticket price only).
How do I add Koala Cancel For Any Reason to my booking?
Koala Cancel For Any Reason can be added when making your booking and is available to select at the Passenger Details stage. Once your booking has been confirmed, it can no longer be added. The terms and conditions of the product will be included in your booking confirmation.
How do I use Koala Cancel For Any Reason?
To use Koala Cancel For Any Reason, you'll need to log into your booking at least 48 hours before your first departure (Regular Flex) or at least 3 hours before your first departure (Last Minute Flex) and confirm the cancellation of your booking. You will be refunded on the payment method used for your booking within 7 working days. Ensure that you submit a cancellation claim through your account rather than accepting the standard cancellation refund, as this may result in a lower refund amount.
Refund requests cannot be submitted via chat or email; they must be made by logging into your AFerry account. Once submitted, your claim is automatically sent to Koala for review, and after approval, AFerry will finalise the refund process. Refund requests also cannot be processed via phone.
