After making or requesting a change to your booking, your booking status and confirmation email may not update immediately. This guide explains what each status means and what to expect at each stage.
Booking status labels explained
Confirmed: your booking is complete and your ticket has been issued. You should have received a confirmation email and a PDF ticket, if applicable.
To confirm: your booking or amendment has been received but is still being processed by the ferry operator. This is normal and does not mean anything has gone wrong.
Pending amendment: a change has been requested but has not yet been confirmed. An agent or the operator is reviewing your request — you will receive an email when it is finalised.
Quote requested: when the online system cannot immediately calculate the new price, your amendment is sent to our team. An agent will email you with the recalculated cost within 1 business day.
Important: Completing payment for an amendment does not guarantee your ticket has been changed. All amendments are subject to availability with the ferry operator. If availability cannot be confirmed, our team will contact you with alternative options.
When will I receive my updated confirmation and ticket?
This depends on how the amendment was processed:
Online self-amendment: your updated confirmation email and a PDF ticket, if applicable, are usually sent within a few minutes of completing payment.
Agent-processed amendment: once our team or the ferry operator confirms the change, your updated confirmation is sent by email. This typically takes up to 1 business day, but may be longer for complex changes or if the operator needs to approve it.
Manual amendments (processed by an agent directly): your booking confirmation email may not automatically update in some cases. The email from our agent confirming the change serves as your proof of amendment — bring this to the port.
My booking still says 'To confirm' — should I be worried?
No. 'To confirm' means your booking is in the operator's queue for processing. As long as you have received a booking reference number and a confirmation email from us, your sailing is reserved. Contact us if your status has not changed to 'Confirmed' within 2 business days of your request.
I have not received a new confirmation email after my amendment
Check your spam or junk folder first.
If the amendment was made by an AFerry agent via chat or email, the automated confirmation email is not always triggered — the email from our agent acts as confirmation.
If more than 1 business day has passed and you have not heard anything, contact us with your booking reference and we will check the status.
Will my ticket show the updated details?
Once an amendment is confirmed, a new PDF ticket reflecting your updated booking will be sent to the email address on your booking, where applicable. Not all bookings generate a PDF ticket — in some cases, your booking confirmation email serves as your travel document. You do not need to print it; showing the PDF on your phone at the port is accepted by all ferry operators. If your ticket does not match your updated booking details, contact us before travel.
